E-file Bits (Nail Drill Bits)
Bits for electric nail files – 124 products from €0.30. The bit matters more than the e-file itself: its material, shape and grit decide whether you work quickly or damage the natural nail. Carbide bits cut most aggressively and remove gel polish and artificial product most efficiently. Diamond bits are gentler, so they suit the cuticle area and the natural nail. Ceramic bits heat up less and are comfortable for longer appointments. Grit – the coarseness – is marked by a coloured band on the bit shank: blue is medium, red is fine, yellow is extra fine.

Materials and what they are best for
Carbide bits have milled cutting flutes – they cut the product away rather than sanding it. This is the fastest way to remove gel polish. Diamond bits are coated with abrasive particles and work more gently, which makes them safer around the cuticle. Ceramic bits combine both principles and barely heat up, so they suit sensitive clients.
Shapes
Cone and flame-shaped bits are designed for the cuticle area. Barrel (cylinder) bits are used to remove product from the whole nail surface. Ball bits are for cleaning under the cuticle and the sidewalls. There are also separate pedicure bits for thickened nails.
Care
After every use, the bit must be cleaned with a brush, disinfected and sterilised. A bit that is not cleaned quickly loses its cutting power because the gaps between the flutes clog with dust.
