Massage Tables
Massage tables and couches: static, folding and electric. With and without a heating function.
Choosing a massage table
A massage table is chosen on two points – whether it will stay in one place or travel, and how much weight it needs to support.
Static, folding or electric
Folding aluminium tables are light and suit therapists who work at clients' homes. Static tables are sturdier and more stable. Electric tables let you change the height with a foot pedal during the treatment – this makes the work easier when you see many clients of different heights in a day.
Width and height
A narrower table lets the therapist stand closer and work without overstretching the full length of the arm, while a wider one is more comfortable for the client. The height is chosen according to the therapist's own height: standing at the table, your palms should reach the surface freely with the elbows slightly bent.
Heating
A heated surface noticeably changes how the client feels, especially in the colder months – the muscles relax faster and the treatment gets off to a more productive start.
