The chair your back depends on
A technician spends eight hours a day at the desk, so the chair is not furniture but a working tool. A badly chosen chair turns into lower back and shoulder pain within a year.
Saddle-style or classic
A saddle-style chair keeps the pelvis tilted forward, so the spine naturally holds its S-shape and your back tires less. It takes some getting used to – the first week may feel unusual. A classic chair with back support is more comfortable for those who like to lean back between clients.
Height
The main mistake is a chair that is too low. When seated correctly, your thighs should be almost horizontal or sloping slightly downwards, and your elbows should be at desk height. That is why the chair's height range must match your desk and your own height; there is no universal option.
Castors and upholstery
Soft castors suit hard floors, while hard castors suit carpet. The upholstery must withstand disinfection: faux leather is easier to wipe clean than fabric and does not absorb odours.
