Client chairs
The client chair is the first thing a person encounters on walking into a salon, and one of the few things they judge without realising it. An uncomfortable or shabby chair in the waiting area spoils the impression more than you might think.
For manicures
At the manicure table a client sits for 60–90 minutes, so the chair needs back support and a reasonably firm seat – one that is too soft becomes uncomfortable after an hour.
For the waiting area
Here appearance and ease of cleaning matter more than ergonomics. Choose upholstery that can be wiped down with a damp cloth, and avoid light-coloured fabrics if you work with dyes or polishes in the salon.
Height
The height of the client chair should match the table so that the hand rests relaxed on the tabletop and the shoulders are not raised.
