Paraffin Wax Baths
Paraffin wax baths and paraffin wax – from €6. Paraffin therapy is a heat treatment in which the hands are dipped into melted paraffin: the warmth opens the pores, improves circulation and allows moisturising products to be absorbed more deeply. The result is felt immediately – the skin becomes soft and the cuticles are easier to work on. In the salon it is a convenient add-on service to offer alongside a manicure during the winter season, when clients' hands are at their driest. The treatment takes about 20 minutes and does not require the technician's attention the whole time.

How it is done
The hands are cleansed, a cream is applied and they are dipped into the paraffin 3–5 times, letting the layer set each time. They are then wrapped in cling film and covered with warm mitts for 15–20 minutes.
Hygiene
The paraffin must not be returned to the bath – used paraffin is thrown away. The hands must be cleaned with an antiseptic before the treatment.
When it is not suitable
The treatment must not be carried out in the case of skin damage, wounds, inflammation or impaired circulation.
