What's in the kit

A complete gel polish kit should contain four things: a base coat, a top coat, at least one colour and a lamp. Some kits are sold without a lamp – they are meant for those who already have one, and are noticeably cheaper. It is worth checking the product description before buying, as this is the most common source of confusion.

What else you will need

Even with a complete kit, you will also need a degreaser and a nail file to prepare the nail surface. Without degreasing, the polish lifts off sooner than anything else, so this step is not optional.

Who it is for
