Ceramic
Ceramic bits – 11 products from €2. Their main advantage over carbide and diamond bits is heat: ceramic warms up far less, so a longer procedure won't cause your client a burning sensation. This matters when working on thin or sensitive nails, where overheating is felt immediately. Ceramic bits combine both working principles – they cut and sand, so they suit both removing product and shaping the surface. They are also corrosion-resistant and withstand sterilisation well.

When to choose ceramic
For long procedures, sensitive clients, and whenever a client complains about heat with a carbide bit. It is also useful on thin nails, where overheating damages the nail bed.
Working notes
Ceramic needs less pressure than carbide – pressing harder wears the bit down faster. The optimal speed is given in the product description.
Cleaning
Like other bits, after use they should be cleaned with a brush, disinfected and sterilised.
Frequently asked questions
