Carbide & Diamond Bits

Carbide and diamond e-file bits – 63 products from €1.00. These are the two most commonly used types of bit, and they are designed for different jobs. Carbide (tungsten carbide) bits have milled flutes that cut the material away, which makes them the fastest at removing gel polish, acrylic and builder gel. Diamond bits are coated with abrasive particles and grind the surface rather than cutting it: they are gentler, more precisely controlled and therefore safer when working around the cuticle and on the natural nail. The grit is indicated by a coloured band on the shank.

When to use carbide

For removing old product, shortening an extension and shaping the free edge. Work parallel to the nail surface, not at an angle – at an angle the bit digs in and leaves grooves. A cross-cut flute pattern generates less heat than a straight one.

When to use diamond

For cleaning under the cuticle, working the sidewalls and buffing the natural nail surface. Because its action is gentler, it is harder to cause damage with a diamond bit, so it is the safer choice around the cuticle for beginners.

Grit by colour

Black and green are the coarsest, intended for artificial material. Blue is the universal medium. Red is fine and suitable for the natural nail. Yellow and white are the gentlest, for polishing and the sensitive cuticle area.

Frequently asked questions

Kietmetalis ar deimantas gelinio lako nuėmimui?

Kietmetalis.
