The single-unit Germix steriliser is a safe way to carry out safe and effective disinfection without chemical solutions or high temperatures. The device works on the basis of a bactericidal effect of UV radiation – ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 254 nm, falling directly onto the surface, effectively destroys living forms of microorganisms. The simply constructed device automatically switches off the UV lamp when the drawer is opened, ensuring safety for both the specialists performing procedures and the clients.

Which tools is the UV-C steriliser suitable for?

The device will be useful in any barbershop or beauty salon. It allows you to carry out efficient dry disinfection, during which the equipment is not exposed to mechanical damage or blunting. It cleans the surfaces of such tools perfectly as scissors, combs, brushes, tweezers, pincers or clipper blades. To properly prepare tools for sterilisation, they must be washed and dried, and more complex constructions should be disassembled. Disinfection is effective when the rays fall directly on the element. The whole process takes 30 to 45 minutes.

How does UV disinfection work?

This is a disinfection method using far ultraviolet (wavelength 100–280 nm, especially 254 nm, i.e. UV-C) – to destroy or neutralise microorganisms by breaking down nucleic acid and interrupting the DNA chain. It should be remembered that this is a supplementary method and does not replace autoclave sterilisation – it acts mainly on living microorganisms, and does not cover spores.
