ONE COAT

ONE COAT – one-coat gel polishes, 23 colours from €8. They have a higher pigment concentration than regular polishes, so you get full coverage the first time instead of after two or three coats. The practical benefit is twofold: each appointment is around five minutes shorter, and the finish stays thinner, so it is less likely to lift at the edges. For a salon working every day, that means at least one extra client a day. As with any gel polish, a base coat and top coat are required.

How to apply

Despite the name, the layer still needs to be thin and even – it simply gives full coverage the first time. If you apply it too thickly, the polish will flood towards the cuticle and cure unevenly.

Who it suits best

Nail technicians with a high volume of clients, and dark or bold colours that would normally need three coats. Light pastel shades are always harder to cover in a single coat.
